Smith Island is such a place. Situated in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay, Smith Island offers you the chance to unwind. A two hours' drive from Washington, DC takes you to Crisfield, Maryland on the Bay's eastern shore. From there you will take a scenic 40 minute ferry ride to the historic town of Ewell, one of three towns located on the island.
