The Brampton Inn
Finished in 1860 as the plantation house of the area's largest peach grower, Brampton retains today nearly all of its original details, including the magnificent three and a half story walnut, ash and heart pine central staircase, walnut windows and doors, original heart pine floors, and plaster ceiling medallions. This thirty-five acre estate is conveniently located just one-half mile outside of historic Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Brampton was a private residence when Danielle and Michael Hanscom bought it with the intention of making it into a bed and breakfast. They opened the doors to the public in December of 1987 with only two guest rooms. Today Brampton has ten guest rooms. The Hanscoms were intimately involved in all aspects of the restoration/construction. The Hanscoms live in a separate residence on the property with their two daughters, Sophie and Simone, and devote the attention to detail that only residing owner-operators can. It is their wish to make your stay at the Brampton a memorable one Quick navigate Chestertown Inns / B&Bs
