The Robert Johnson House ( Annapolis )
In 1772, an Annapolis Barber by the name of Robert Johnson purchased town lot #73 from a local silversmith named John Steele. In 1773, Johnson's grandson would build the brick house which still stands at 23 School Street. The house passed through the hands of many owners as the centuries passed. It would later be converted into a lodging facility.
The Robert Johnson House features twenty-six guest-rooms furnished with antiques and reproductions. The paint, upholstery, and draperies in the guest rooms were carefully selected to make the most of each room's location, and exposure to sunlight. The Inn offers a great view of the State House, and the State Circle. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as Cable TV, hairdryers, dataports, phones, and private baths.
There are also luxury suites, featuring Historic King or Queen Beds. As with all the Historic Inns, visitors are within walking distance of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and the heart of the historic district.
